It’s time to re-write your story.
If I’m being honest, I’ve never really been one to have clear cut goals. Most of my life, other people picked my goals for me:
Get good grades. Make the starting 5. Secure your spot on the relay, preferably the anchor but the first leg is also good.
I hated school, so getting good grades wasn’t a huge motivating factor. I was naturally good at sports and usually didn’t have to push myself in order to get playing time, make the starting line up or get selected for the relay.
I have generally always picked the easy route when it comes to “achievement”, which ultimately left me living a mediocre life.
I fell into the trap of believing the story that other people had told me about myself. Did you know that it only takes our subconscious mind six times to hear something before it is ingrained as a memory. Here are some stories that I remember others writing about me:
“You’re just lazy”
“You’re really talented, you just don’t work hard”
“You very smart, you just can’t focus”
I decided that I had to change something this year. I had so many ideas and dreams and I refused to live my life on auto-pilot only to look up one day not having achieved the things I was dreaming about.
I am on a mission to empower women to be the best version of themselves in body, mind and soul. I hope to inspire women to love themselves bigger, and consequently have a greater capacity to love others bigger.
I took the time to get clear on my personal mission, my vision and my destination. I was able to rewrite my script and RUN towards my destination.
I’ve realized a few things:
1️⃣ I’m not lazy. I’m just not interested in doing something that doesn’t serve my mission in life.
2️⃣ I’m really talented and will work hard at anything that I am passionate about.
3️⃣ when I’m clear on where I’m going, I have an intense amount of focus until I arrive at my destination.
This year hasn’t been easy, and it certainly hasn’t gone exactly as planned, but I am very proud of my attitude and mindset to consistently work on myself and my dream. I’m learning so much on my journey and am learning to embrace the hard work and consistency that is required to realize my dreams.
